ok so here was today
it was good

it was the church’s 7 year aniversary :)

Happy Women’s Day!!!

so today was women’s day!! it was alot of funness

just in case anyone was wondering..womens day is the same as mother’s day but not only for mothers. XP duh..lol. ok but this is how it went…

yesterday we had a few russian women come over to al and dolly’s house and we had tea and cookie thingys and got to talk about stuff…well…i did alot more listening than talking. lol. but it was alot of fun!

then today we bought flowers and went to another missionary girls house named Shannon. we met a few other american missionaries and has ALOT of fun. we had tea and some stuff to snack on….and just kinda talked to people and then exchanged flowers. anyways..it was lots of fun

here are some pics of the womens day:

then…since the weather here is FABULOUS!!!! me and anna went for a walk and just kinda walked to a store and back. we had fun just kinda takin our time enjoying the weather…

we took some pictures. it was fun :D

so thats it for today. i want to hear about whats going on in KC when u get a chance. feel free to contact me on here and give me your email if i dont already have it. or you can write me through my email which is foglydia90@yahoo.com or lydianebl@juno.com . things have been crazy around here with just Satan trying to get in somewhere and mess Gods plan up. just keep praying for the ministry here. we still need a house and a car. we know God already has one picked out for us we’re just waiting for him to show us where.

my bday is in a week from sunday. we’re going to London sometime in April i think so that we can get our visas. hopefully we can get some people this summer to come over here to ukraine and help out with the ministry and maybe just get a better feel of what we’re doing over here. its alot different but after a month and a half of being here im starting to get ALOT more comfortable with my surroundings…im starting to be able to figure out where things are and do somethings on my own. i forgot alot of russian when we went back to america and am hearing in and having the chance to speak in everyday and that helps very much. i hope to inprove alot more while we’re here. we’re looking for a russian teacher if you could pray about that then that would be great.

Al and Dolly are leaving this thursday. pray for their safe return back to their home in Ohio. i know Annie, Stephanie and her other kids are missing them very much. keep all of them as a family and individually in your prayers. i cant image what they must be going through but im sure all of this is helping each one of them get closer to God.

well…this is the end of the blog…we miss kcbt and all our friends there. i hope everyone is doing awesome and getting and taking the chances to witness to people in their own little mission fields whether that be school or work or wherever. sooo…yea

hope to talk to some poeple soon. love you all!

back from kiev-fastov-zjmirinka

hello everybody!

its good to be back in Simferopol. we had a great trip but it was very tiring! hehehe
we got on a train monday [25.02.08] and went to kiev, got to kiev tuesday, then we got our dad and mom’s passport from the place thingy. then we met Robin Ireland and her son Mike at a mcdonalds. and we drove with them from kiev to fastov [where they live].

we had ALOT of fun with them in fastov. they are a great family! they have 7 kids, the oldest married and going to have her 2nd baby and is in america. next is Calleen, shes 24 and is awesome. she was there in fastov with us and me and anna got to become friends with her there. their next is my age, and she is in america for college. then there is mike who is 16, then Kayla, Bobby and last but not least, Kelsey. They were all definitely an encouragement and a blessing to our family. they make me want to learn better russian. lol. while we were there in fastov we went out with a group and went to one of the villages where alot of people were  buying and selling stuff and sang some songs and then passed out tracks to people. and a few guys street preached. it was a really amazing experience. handing out tracks is an awesome experience because how u hand out tracks here…well, its not something you can do really in america. you say “Vozmitye pajalusta” which simply means “take please” and if u said that in america then people would think you were crazy person. or well at least nobody would really take whatever you were giving to them. here are some pictures from fastov.

then after fastov we got on a train and went to zjmirinka which was only a few hrs on the train. we barely made the train and then found our seets. the train was completely packed when we first got on and after a few stops it was alot better. we made it to zjmirinka ok and met pastor Valera and drove to his house. we got there on thursday evening and at first i felt very uncomfortable mostly because i didnt know anyone there and because it was a bible school thing for guys. there were about idk…10 or 12 guys there and they were all from the age 18 to 24. after a little while of being there we got to get to know them better and we had alot of fun playing a card game called phase10 and they were all studying english so it was funny to hear them speak english to us. the pastor’s wife, Tanya was such a sweetheart and helped us with anything we needed. she spoke pretty good english and was a very good cook. my dad got to speak in the school a couple times and got to preach in the church that sunday. It was a really cool place and they all really made our family feel welcome there. me and anna got to go with a small group, and we walked to the train station and passed out ALOT of tracks. then we walked back and passed out even more. :P . we were supposed to get on a train sunday night and get back to simferopol on monday but on sunday my dad realized that the train tickets said the 3rd and that was monday. soo…we stayed another day and in all our trip was wonderful. here are some pictures of zjmirinka:

well….thats all. i hope u enjoyed them. thank you for all of your prayers. leave me a comment below and tell me what u think and whats been going on in your lives. bye bye for now.

its been a while

since my last blog

its been like over a week!!
oh well

anyways…church went well today. there were 9 people who came to russian church not counting me, anna, and mom&dad. and Al and Dolly were there too.

me and Anna were asked to sing the revelation song right before we sang it. lol. last minute but it was ok. we miss singing with sophia though! Anna is learning higher harmony and i do lower harmony on some songs to its all good =D
tomorrow at 4ish we’re getting on a train to go to Kiev again and then going and meeting some other poeple in some other place. hee hee…im so good with details! XP
anyways…the russian church was great. around 10 people is better than none so Praise God!

and the internation service was wonderful…as usual!

after church we had an american get-together. it was great! i got to meet a few other missionaries here. it was awesome and plus there was some goooood food! =d

i cant believe how fast this month has gone by…it seems like yesterday was the beginning of february and now its almost the end. gosh its crazy! well…march is a good month ;-) mostly cuz its the month my birthday is in. haha. turnin 18!!! YA!! also, me and mom and dad are getting international drivers lisences…im excited but kinda nervous about driving here. i dont think ill be as nervous when i get to know where things are better. and for now i dont mind riding on the marshrutkas [public transportation]. hopefully we get a house soon…and get our stuff from Belarus if we can. just things to pray about. well, thank you for all your prayers! ill write another blog when we get back from our trip which will be a week from tomorrow. until then!

Valentines Day!

hey everyone!
so today is valentines day…
it doesnt seem any different than any other day for me. lol

so this morning we got back from Kiev and wow was i glad to get home. well…not really home…lol but u know what i mean…

we had alot of fun where we went..it was alittle colder than i had hoped but still awesome.
we got some fun pictures…walked around…ALOT
rode in a bunch of different taxis and yea. i got to give out a couple of tracks to a couple of the taxi drivers and one to the woman who took our passport photos and left one in the room in the train when we left. i just hope that they will all just be seeds planted and that someone will come along to water the seed. when i gave the 1st one to the taxi driver guy while we were walking away i looked back and he was sitting in his car reading it sooo…that gave me hope. =]

ok…here r the pics…enjoy

hope u liked it =D

Good Day!

today has been awesome..

well…the past week has been pretty amazing actually.

Friday we went and got to hang out with a group of chinese/malaysian students! it was SOOOOO much fun!
they made us laugh so much and we got to learn so much about them all…
we ate ALOT of food and then afterwards we did a skit without words and they had to guess which story in the bible it was. me, anna, mom and dad did Abraham and Isaac. Dad was Abraham, Anna was Isaac, Mom was a servant, and i was a lamb. =P
so dad killed me in the end . hahaha

they are a fun group of people!!!

and today was church…we had an actual russian service which ended up being AMAZINNNGGG!!!!!!

God was really there. there were 10 people that showed up counting a little baby and not counting us four. Dad preaching his sermon all in russian and did a pretty good job! everyone seemed to understand so that was good. heehee

we had tea and cookie things afterwards and then we went to the internation service…and let me tell u… i am soooo happy that we have an english service here where we can sing english songs…i mean i LOVE to sing and listen to russian but … i love it even more when i can sing and listen to a sermon in my own language. lol. we got to meet so many more yonger people today too! it was soooo good and made me so much happier to be able to have fun and talk with yonger people who speak english. we got invited to a chinese new year celebration on Saturday and are going to that. tomorrow we’re leaving for Kiev on a reeeaaallly long train. i dont remember how many hrs. but longer than any flight ive ever been on. and we’ll be in Kiev until wednesday or thursday or something.

me and anna wanted to learn the piano and asked a malaysian girl named Melissa if she knew anyone who could teach us maybe once a week or something and she said she maybe could and her sister too. there is a piano in the church [right next door] and in the house we’re living in [al and dollys house] and so me and anna can go with one of them and go to the separate piano and learn to play. it will be so excited and through this we’ll be able to gain friendships with the girls teaching us! im so excited!!!

Ive made a list of things i want to accomplish by the time i turn 40:

1. learn Russian better [brush up i guess...ive forgotten so much]

2. learn sign language

3. learn Spanish

4. learn to play the piano

5. learn to play either the bass or the violin.

6. work in or with an orphanage

and i only want to learn these so in any way possible through them i could give glory to God…whether that be through praise or through being able to communicate to people who speak another language.

thats all for today…till next time

Lydia
